Reconstruire la ville en ville000
Le déclin du commerce local, les pendulaires et l'autoroute
Chenal Jérôme, Kaufmann Vincent
Abstract:
The motorway as a vector for development can also contribute to « draining » the peripheric regions
of their shopping and other amenities. While the number of commuters is increasing and while they
travel increasingly far, their lifestyles don’t combine easily with the shopping offer of city centres that
have difficulties in adapting to this new condition. The following example concerns research on the
decline of shopping amenities in the city-centre of Estavayer-le-Lac, but could be applied to almost
all Swiss cities.
